New! July 2011 - Marc Heller is among the first 12 chiropractors certified by the state of Oregon to practice myofascial dry needling. Dry needling, using thin, solid, (acupuncture style) needles in muscle fascia and joint areas, is a new and exciting way to help reduce your pain, break the pain cycle and help your tissues relax and heal. The needles are almost painless and the therapy is a big advance.

Beth Heller, LMT, Certified Aston-Patterner
Beth Heller is a licensed massage therapist and certified Aston-Patterner who has been with Heller Chiropractic for over 15 years. Aston-Patterning, developed by Judith Aston in the late 70s, is an integrative approach to improving postural and movement patterns. It is particularly effective in chronic, difficult cases because it teaches the body new ways to hold itself. Beth’s work begins by evaluating the response of the whole body (mind/psyche) to the injury or longstanding postural patterns that cause pain. She looks at how your body has reacted to your life traumas, creating distortion and disharmony. She then begins to work, using a sequence of bodywork and movement therapies to help you unwind from your chronic pattern.

Our Licensed Massage Therapists
Heller Chiropractic employs a team of excellent licensed massage therapists – including Ra Wollenburg, Beka Chandler, Philana Shallcross, Daniel Salisbury, Allison Trafton, Lisa LaBounty, Carol Hawkinson, Monica Johnson and Sophia McCleary.  They provide deep tissue massage, laser therapy, micro-current stimulation, fascial manipulation, and teach our clients rehabilitation exercises specific to their condition. Most of the therapists are also in private practice.

Philana Shallcross, Licensed Massage Therapist
Philana specializes in therapeutic deep tissue massage for pain management of a wide range of injuries; she treats low back and pelvis dysfunction, sciatica, carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis/golfers elbow, rotator cuff injuries, whiplash and more. She also integrates an awareness of how posture and body mechanics play into chronic pain and overuse injuries. She incorporates a blend of modalities including Myofascial Release, Muscle Energy, Neuromuscular Therapy and Swedish deep tissue. She is able to accept insurance for the treatment of Motor Vehicle Accident injuries. She can be reached at 541-301-9844 to schedule a private massage session.
